in Galton and Simpson's... (TV)

A match made in heaven - BAFTA award-winning comic Paul Merton stars in fifteen shows scripted by comedy legends Galton and Simpson.

Merton's deadpan delivery ably complements the droll humour and timeless quality of Galton and Simpson's scripts - shows which were originally written for Les Dawson, Stanley Baxter, Leslie Phillips and comedy icon Tony Hancock, among others. Updated slightly to make them more contemporary, these stories also feature Sam Kelly ('Allo 'Allo), Roger Lloyd Pack (The Vicar of Dibley), Caroline Quentin (Life Begins...), Nigel Planer (The Young Ones), Lynda Baron (Open All Hours) and Josie Lawrence (Outside Edge).
